Addicted to "College Dropout"...
Been listening to it everyday since I copped it. Addicted to the words, beats, and thoughts of a poet addicted to hip-hop...
Hard to compare Kanye to another hip-hop artist. His political sayings remind me of Pac. Sometimes fun and sometimes serious... With a twist of Black Thought and Common, with just a touch of a wu-tang influence. Honest and thought provoking, his lyrics take you on a real-life spiritual journey of many of our youth. Caught between the street and Church. Exploring the hypocrisy of the inner city, Kanye's old school influence brings a sense of nostalgia. You find yourself singing songs that you've technically never heard before. But all the sampling and borrowing lends soul to this much needed album...It appears as though Kanye would rather be heard then sold... A concept that is missing in hip-hop. What have I learned from listening to this album?? No matter what they say, be you. Eventually, it will pay off...
